Cold tea is delish... NOT

Hello bloggy-land,
It's been a while but I figured it was about time I wrote a post and didn't just post a single photo because I was too lazy to formulate sentences. How are things? What have you been up to? My hubby has just ducked out to get Subway for dinner; I had this brilliant idea that I was going to make chicken and coconut Thai soup but then I realised I hadn't defrosted any chicken and the baby had just gone to bed... meaning any use of the ridiculously loud beep-like-a-bloody-air-raid-siren microwave is strictly forbidden. Yes that is a thing in this house. And speaking of the baby he has been particularly grumpy of late, probably due to his sprouting more teeth (he has 8 already how many more could he possibly need at this age?!). I do feel for him, I don't like him being in pain, but it does make him a total gremlin during the day to entertain. It was lucky I had a visitor today though, so I wasn't my usual hermit-y self. Karen from So This is Love popped in with her little man for a play date. Oh other human being, how glorious you are! Well actually no, I take that back... oh selected human beings! How glorious you are! ;)

So whilst I sit here with my cold cup of tea with wafer crumbs through it awaiting the return of my hunter gatherer husband I thought I'd fill you in on the goings-on of your favourite little crochet store! Yeah just admit it, Dear Doily Handmade is SO your favourite :p This month I have been super busy with monkeys, Hungry Caterpillar inspired prop sets, booties, hats, fabric flowers, hippo snuggle blankies, giraffes and other bits and bobs. You know what I finished today? A Batman inspired beanie... BATMAN! Batman is amazeballs. I have a Flash inspired one to do as part of the same order too. I can't speak for Flash, I don't know much about him personally other than Sheldon Cooper likes him and thinks he IS him after drinking caffeine.

In September I'll (hopefully!!!!!!) be having a market stall, I have such tremendous plans for stock and have been trying to find to time to sneak an item in to crochet here and there around my current orders list (which is long, as always). I probably won't have use of my wrists by the time I'm 50 but what the heck right? hehe It's what I love to do. There have been some little booties on the hook, and some mini snuggle blankets plus some really sweet newborn girl beanies adorned with some of my handmade fabric flowers. If my house wasn't so overrun with yarn I'd probably feed my fabric addiction a little more buuuuuut I'll wait til I have more storage space or you know, a bigger house with two extra rooms exclusively for all my craft stuff. Hey, a girl can dream.

Is that squeaky breaks I here? Why yes, it is indeed my food arriving! Best be off, I need to go stuff my face so I can go catch up on Masterchef in bed.

Nighty night people of internet land!
Much yarngasmic love to all
