Oil Pastel Painting

I've had oil pastels, albeit cheap ones, for many years. Probably since my never-completed Fine Arts days come to think of it... anyhoo, I got them out of a drawer as I was decluttering recently and looked up some oil pastel tutorials on Youtube. I gave one for garlic, one for a cactus flower, and one for artichoke a try and the other two I had a crack at on my own. I enjoyed this medium for the speed of colour application and the ease of use without fussy finer details. I'd like to try and draw from life this weekend with them, possibly in the form of urban sketching? I'm not sure yet but we'll see!
